first earth poetry, now sky poetry

This one's for the birds. Literally. A new lit-mag devoted to bird literature -- poetry, fiction nonfiction, something called narrative scholarship (love the sound of that), all about birds.

The LBJ is named for the birders acronym which = little brown job, i.e. small brown hard-to-identify birds. As someone who does a little birdwatching, I'll be watching for their July debut issue.

This journal does look interesting. I grew up in a family of birdwatchers, and I currently live in the hometown of Roger Tory Peterson -- yes, the guy who did all the Peterson guides!

So, do you ever have a sighting of the rare Peterson bird? No doubt with field glasses around his neck.

Oh, well, we have sightings of all kinds of things here! :) I did a quick plug on my blog too.

Thanks, Rachel, for the tip about this magazine. I have a few bird poems for them.

That's an interesting one, though I thought LBJ was a president, and his wife.
